Urban farming is slowly becoming the best means for small groups to provide sustainable, fresh, and healthy food sources for their communities. More and more the access to affordable fresh fruits and vegetables is difficult to have, and even more so in many urban areas, it is impossible to find these in walking distance.
Our goal is to provide a sustainable model to design urban farming solutions to not only allow easy access to the food sources and thus prevent Food Deserts from forming, but also provide an alternative source of employment for both adults and teens. This will create a boon to the community economically and also a safe place for kids to socialize and work together, rather than become caught up in criminal activity.
We will start with basic produce, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, red and white onions, green beans, and non-invasive fish species which can coexist with the plants and fertilize them thus leading to no pesticide or GMO use. Since the system will be closed any surplus filtered water will be sold as grey water and solar and wind energy will allow the farm to be energy neutral.
Because of the costs that can be incurred with foreign exchange rates and transfers, I have decided upon using Bitcoins as the preferred method of donation for the project. If you would like more information about the Economic Genesis Project, Urban Farming, or to contribute to the fund, please send all requests to my email or my bitcoin address, listed below.
